Hi Vsevolod Maslennikov,
If the goal to connect and mock queries, there are plenty of open source tools for the same.
You can use something like an SQLDeveloper for the same.
Is there something specific (to informatica) that you expect to mock?
Your requirement is to test the connectivity from outside PowerCenter before configuring PowerCenter?
Could you please elaborate on your use case in detail, so that we can get a better understanding?
We want to test change/edit workflow, at the moment we use sql scripts to prepare data for workflow manually.
The test case looks like this: workflow sends a query to the database, it returns a fixed value (there must be a mock), then workflow passes the data on
I don't know of any such feature in PowerCenter. You will have to resort to some DB programming to set up anything like this, e.g. by creating a view which delivers exactly these mock-up data irrespective of the WHERE clause.
Maybe you can use a flat file as a source and write the fix value (mock) you need to read in it?
Is the requirement to test the data flow through the mapping?
If so you can do this by using a FF source and target
Is the requirement to test PC connectivity to the Db?
If so, you can run db client from the PC server node and connect to the DB. Or you can create a script that runs a store procedure and run the script from a PC command task.
