Exporting assets in jpg format out of P360

    Ronald Lubin Guru

      Hi all,

When I configure an export template in P360 for assets to be exported it only export a zip file containing all the images for the item.

I am looking to do the following

      1. Export the asset in it's original format (jpg, png)
      2. I only want a specific assets quality to be export however all of them are being exported even if I have conditions.

Can P360 export assets in their original format without zipping them?

          Hi Ron,

I have written this small Export in the past for exporting products + image path + image

          Modul 1

          Product Nr. {&Product.Product no.} {images}

          Sub Modul "images"

          Export the original image

          {&Product.Media Asset.Document identifier} - {&Product.Media Asset.Quality} {?ExportMime {&Product.Media Asset.Document identifier}, "originalimage"} - {?MimeGetUNCPath {&Product.Media Asset.Document identifier}, "originalimage"}

          maybe that example helps

          Best Regards

            Hi Ralph,

Thank you for the details, however I can already get the export out of PIM my question is whether I can export the actual jpg and not a zip file.  I do not want the assets being exported to be zipped.  I have been looking for a while and I can't see how to accomplish this.

Is exporting the actual assets without it being zipped not possible in P360?

            Ron

              Hi Ron,

what about a post export step to unzip? I think with ZIP they want prevent that to much data is stored in the Export Directory but you can use a copy and unzip es post export.

              Best Regards

                Hi Ron

Unfortunately, this is not possible for the media asset archived files.

You have only the option to deactivate for the export files themselves but not for the media assets.

For this we have a setting in the plugin_customization.ini:

                # How should the export files be stored on export file server,

                # compressed or not?

                # values:

                #    true   --> export files will be compressed in one zip file per export job

                #    false  --> export files will not be compressed

                com.heiler.ppm.export.core/export_zip_datafiles=false

                Solution:

This could be done in a custom post-export step (or custom cmd with our standard post-export step "Execute Cmd").

                Regards,

                Wladislaw

Thank you both Ralph and Wladislaw,

It is good to know that was the expected behavior for the media exports.  I will try to use powershell with post export to achieve my use case.

I also noticed that when the images are exported, the zip file contains all the images associated with the item even if you have a filter condition in the code it still exports all the images.  Is that expected as well?  You can't just export one image out of all the associated images for one item?

I truly appreciated the help I get from this community.

                  Thank you all.
