Informatica does provide managed services but you would have to double check with your account rep to ensure PwC is supported in the managed service offering
2) PwC is supported on AWS, Azure , VMWare and KVM.
I have experience with both PowerCenter 9.6.1 and 10.2 installed on an EC2 instance at AWS.
It worked well so no problem.
Also I wanted to answer your question a different way.
1. Does Informtica provides cloud hosted solution for PowerCenter?
Yes in the form of IICS. As part of the Informatica Cloud offering there is CDI (Cloud data integration). This is the next gen data integration platform from Informatica. This is basically PowerCenter in the cloud which is a hosted solution from Informatica.
As Prasenjit mentioned there is a conversion tool to port PwC objects over to the cloud.
Thanks you for you responses,
One more question ,
Anyone from you have experiance with the PowerCenter to Cloud conversion (CDI). was it adopted by your Developer teams easily or more efforts need to be put from Dev side?
CDI (Cloud Data Integration) is basically PwC. What is different is the physical components of the architecture, the UI and feature functionality. So from a high level can your current developers in PwC create a mapping in CDI tomorrow with little to no effort....yes. Now there are some differences but seasoned developers will quickly pick them up.
For the PC to cloud conversion tool. This is not directly available to customers. You do have to engage Informatica or a third party partner to help you with the work.
Happy to discuss this more if you need help understanding IICS and the roadmap for PowerCenter.
