    "title:" search operator

      Hi

       

      This continues on previous post Asset Name vs Business Title , where Darren helped clarify that "Asset Name" and "Business Title" are 2 properties of an asset.

       

      Now, there is a search operator "title:" as described in manual shown below.

      "title:" search operator

      The manual indicates this operator searches in "title" field (1). 

       

      • What is this "title" field??  Is it "Business Title" field?
      • Since "Business Title" is optional, what does "title:" search on if an asset does not have a "Business Title"?  Will that asset not match in this search?
        OR
      • Will "title:" search operator also search "Asset Name"?  Irrespective if the "Business Title" is present or not?

          Just want to update that the EDC version I am using is :

          Version 10.4.1.2 Build 33 - Oct 16, 2020.

            Hello,

             

            unfortunately I don't have the information if title is the Business Title.

            However from testing perspective defintive title works for assetname and Business Title.

            See the testing screenshots:

            Here is my column without a Business Title

             

            Now searching with title option

             

            I got a hit.

             

            Searching without title option:

             

             

            Got the same hit.

             

             

            Adding a Business Title:

             

             

            Now the search displays:

              Hi, Markus. I think we may be missing some screenshots in your post. I can only see your first and final images. It looks like we are missing the 3 images in between.

               

              What would be helpful is if Informatica could explain or confirm whether conditional logic is being used to return the search results when the "title" keyword is used. Something like:

               

              1. If a Business Title (logical display name or business term) for the asset is populated, first search that value then the asset (physical/system) name value, ignoring any underscores or letter case.
              2. If a Business Title for the asset is NOT populated, search the asset (physical/system) name value, ignoring any underscores or letter case.
