readme.txt missing in EBF-17746 installer zip file

    Julie Heckman Seasoned Veteran

I cannot find the readme.txt in the EBF-17746 installation zip file that I downloaded.  Where are the instructions located to install this for MDM 10.4.

      Thank you!

          Hi Julie,

readme.txt file is not present in the .zip file of EBF-17746. If you downloaded the EBF from TSFTP please find the readme.txt file in the folder from where you downloaded the EBF installers.

          Emergency Bug Fix Installation Instructions

          ================================================================================

At your request, you received an Emergency Bug Fix (EBF) for Multidomain MDM.

Depending on the features that are affected by the EBF, you might receive one or

two .zip files. The files are intended for the hub server and the process server

(cleanse server), and they are configured for your operating system and

          application server environment.

When you run an InstallEBF script, the installer creates an EBFs directory

and a subdirectory with the EBF number in the name. The subdirectory contains a

backup of the .ear files that are affected by the EBF in case you need to

uninstall the EBF. The installer also creates a log file and updates the

versionInfo.xml with the EBF number. After the installer ends successfully,

you run an EBFInstallSetup script, which deploys the .ear file to the

          application server.

          Prerequisites

          ********************************************************************************

Before you install, ensure that the following prerequisites are satisfied:

          - EBF .zip filenames include your application server and operating system

          - JDK 1.8 or later is installed

          - JAVA_HOME is set to the JDK installation directory

          - JAVA_HOME is included in your PATH or CLASSPATH environment variable

Tip: Multidomain MDM requires the same Java prerequisites, so Java should

already be set up correctly in your environment.

          ********************************************************************************

Installing an EBF in the Hub Server

          ********************************************************************************

          1. Extract the EBF server installer .zip file to any directory.

          2. Open the input.properties file.

          3. Edit the following properties:

             - DEST_DIR. Path to the Hub Server directory in one of the following formats:

               - UNIX systems: DEST_DIR=<MDM install directory>/hub/server

               - Windows systems: DEST_DIR=<MDM install directory>\\hub\\server

             - ROLLBACK=0

          4. Run the InstallEBF script:

             - UNIX systems: InstallEBF.sh

             - Windows systems: InstallEBF.bat

          5. When the install process ends, navigate to <MDM install directory>/hub/server

and run the EBFInstallSetup script with the options for your application

             server:

             - UNIX systems: EBFInstallSetup.sh <options>

             - Windows systems: EBFInstallSetup.bat <options>

See the "<options> by Application Server" topic.

The setup process deploys the .ear file to the application server.

          6. Navigate to the following directory: <MDM install directory>/hub/server/conf

          7. Open the versionInfo.xml file, and verify that the file contains the EBF

number and the status is 'verified.'

          Uninstalling the Emergency Bug Fix

          ********************************************************************************

Use the same InstallEBF script and properties file to uninstall the EBF.

Set the ROLLBACK property to 1, and then run the script.

          1. Open the input.properties file.

          2. Edit the following properties:

             - DEST_DIR=<same directory you specified when installing the EBF>

             - ROLLBACK=1

          3. Run the InstallEBF script:

             - UNIX systems: InstallEBF.sh

             - Windows systems: InstallEBF.bat

The EBF is uninstalled, and the EBF files are removed from your system.

          4. Based on the EBF file you are uninstalling, navigate to either

             <MDM install directory>/hub/server or <MDM install directory>/hub/cleanse.

          5. Run the patchInstallSetup script with the options for your application server:

             - UNIX systems: patchInstallSetup.sh <options>

             - Windows systems: patchInstallSetup.bat <options>

where <options> are the same as the EBFInstallSetup <options>.

See the "<options> by Application Server" topic.

The setup process deploys the .ear files to the application server.
