    PIM EditorPlaceholder Problem

    Alex _ Guru

      Hi all,

      we have an issue when we try to use EditorPlaceholder function in a export preview for attribute values.

      The function works correctly if I use the EditorPlaceholder into the attribute module but when I change the module from attribute to attribute values, the export don't show the value and we can't edit the box.

      can anyone help me?

      my requirement is that the user need to change the value for a specific value identifier.

      Thanks

      A

          Hi Alex,

          It looks like working fine. Try with the attached export preview template. Attribute value filed editable in your repository?

          Thank you

            Hi Sal,

            could you try to change the module with this code?

            </html>

            </body>

            {&Attribute values.Name (English)}<br />

            {&Attribute values.Value identifier (English, DEFAULT)}<br />

            {?EditorPlaceholder {&Attribute values.Attribute value (English, DEFAULT)}}<br />

            </body>

            </html>

            if I run your template, the preview works correctly but the users need to have the attribute name.

            Alex

              Hi Alex,

              adding

              {&Attributes.Name (English)}

              to the template Sai provided

              brings up the Attribute names in the template as well and just the attribute value is editable.

              Would this be helpful?

                Hi jessica,

                No, unfortunately the user can be able to edit the attributevalue for a specific value identifier.

                  Hi Alex,

                  I am sorry I think than I don't get your use case.

                  As far as I can see you are interested of providing an option to edit the attribute value.

                  With the template provided earlier by Sai editing an attribute value is possible. If you would like to add the name of the attribute as well it's just adding this filed {&Attributes.Name (English)}. Than the name will be displayed

                  If this isn't your use case please describe your use case more detailed to get proper help.

                  Thanks!

                    Hi Jessica,

                    the requirement is:

                    The user can be able to edit data imported from external system into PIM.

                    • Some data aren't multivalue and the user actually is able to edit the value because is qualified with DEFAULT
                    • Some data are multivalue.
                      • These data are qualified with different identifier (for example istructions)

                    With this requirement I want to build a edit preview looping and showing each attributevalue if the attribute is multivalue.

                    </html>

                    </body>

                                   {&Attribute values.Name (English)}<br />

                                   {&Attribute values.Value identifier (English, DEFAULT)}<br />

                                   {?EditorPlaceholder {&Attribute values.Attribute value (English, DEFAULT)}}<br />

                    </body>

                    </html>

                    Finally, the table result should be this:

                    Attribute Name | Identifier | Value

                    Istructions          |       id_1         | value 1 imported from external system (cell editable)

                    Istructions          |       id_2         | value 2 imported from external system (cell editable)

                    with this configuration, the user can change the value qualified for id_2.

                    If I follow your suggestion, the user will see

                    Attribute Name | Value

                    Istructions          | value 1 imported from external system (cell editable)

                    Istructions          | value 2 imported from external system (cell editable)

                    and the feeling isn't the same.

                    So the requirement is:

                    I want to see Attribute Name, Attribute Value Identifier, Attribute Value and be able to change the attribute value.

                    I hope that this example can be usefull for you.

                    Thanks

                    A
