Hi Santosh Kumar,
Please note that we support only Native connectivity(connection through Oracle clients installed on Informatica server machine) for connecting to Oracle database through PowerCenter. ODBC connectivity is not tested and certified.
The compatibility details mentioned in PAM document is for the Oracle client version with PowerCenter. You have to check for the compatible Oracle database server version for the corresponding client versions mentioned in PAM and use them.
Please use Native connectivity by installing Oracle client on Informatica server machine and let us know if you are facing any issues.
As Tharini mentioned, please use Native connectivity.
Along with that once you install the Oracle client in your Informatica Server, you can set the following environment variables at the Informatica server:
Set the following environment variables:
ORACLE_HOME=Oracle client installation directory
TNS_ADMIN=Directory where tnsnames.ora is located
If you are using default $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora, then you do not need to set TNS_ADMIN. If you set TNS_ADMIN then ORACLE_HOME is not required.
When you set PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH, make sure you set them as shown below so their default value does not get overridden.
Please keep us posted if you face any issue even after that.
Thanks for the inputs.
We have configured native connectivity only, but while importing tables from Oracle 19c we have this issue. Any help is appreciated.
Please note that PowerCenter 10.2 does not support Oracle 19c database.
Oracle 19c is supported on Informatica versions 10.2.0 HF1, 10.4.0 and 10.4.1.
Informatica 10.2.0 supports Oracle 11gR2, 12c and 12cR1. Try with any of the supported versions and let us know if it still fails during table import.
Tharini is correct please go to a supported version .
Just one typo Oracle 19c is supported with Informatica versions 10.2.0 HF2, 10.4.0 and 10.4.1.
Does this apply for PowerExchange Classic?
Does PowerExchange Classic, running on Linux, connecting to Oracle on a different server, version 10.2.0 HF2, support CDC capture from an Oracle 19c database?
I don't think PWX 10.2.0 HF2 supports Oracle 19c. It would be great if you can submit your query in PowerExchange section for better visibility.
