Yes, it is possible to import mappings/mapplets from PowerCenter to IDQ.
We have a command available called importFromPC which will help you import the PowerCenter Objects to IDQ.
Please take a look at the following guide: ImportFromPC
The following KB will also help: https://kb.informatica.com/howto/6/Pages/21/527071.aspx
Thank you so much Namratha.
One more query regarding the IDQ. I am getting below error while running wf in 10.2 PC & the mapplets which are being used here, created in IDQ8.x:
EP_13236 Could not open the following dll: [libIDQToUpperTransform.so].The reason is : [Database driver event...Error occurred loading library [libIDQToUpperTransform.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory]Database driver event...Error occurred loading library [libIDQToUpperTransform.so]]
Actually, we have around 20 mapplets created in IDQ 8.x which is being used in 10.2 PC.
So is there any workaround for this so that we can use the IDQ 8.x mapplets without creating new one from the developer clients?
The IDQ 8.x functionality was end of life with Informatica 10.1 so you will need to recreate the mapplets in the current version.
Thank you for your response.
Cant we import all the same mapplets (created in IDQ 8.x)from 10.2 PC to IDQ 10.x & then import back to 10.2 PC?
Would it work?
Unfortunately no. The patch which allowed the IDQ 8.x mapplets continue to run in later versions was a recompilation of the 8.x code to provide the required libraries to allow the mapplets run. As this code is not available for 10.2 the mapplets cannot be run.
The root of this is IDQ 8.x was a completely different technology to IDQ 9.x and later versions and was therefore not directly upgradeable as is possible between 9.6 and 10.1 for example.
To support upgrades the patch to allow 8.x metadata be run was provided but it was never intended to last as long as it did as you are effectively running code created over 10 years ago.
