IDQ is a full ETL integration engine. So yes you can use it for DW loads. yes it can handle millions of records you just need to size it accordingly to meet your load SLA's.
Thank you for the response. Does it have the partitioning, push down optimization, and other data load performance tuning features like PowerCenter?
Yes it has very similar capabilities as PowerCenter in the areas you mentioned.
One difference you should be aware of is that - as of my knowledge - there's still no Transaction Control available in IDQ.
Also, the workflow capabilities of IDQ differ from the workflow features in PowerCenter quite a bit.
Not to forget that sessions as they exist in PowerCenter are still not available in IDQ.
And - again, as far as I know - you cannot parameterise connections in IDQ.
Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages and use cases.
Scott et al., if my knowledge is outdated, please let me know, I would be happy to learn about these features being available in IDQ.
