In addition to the export / import commands, if you need to remap connections, projects etc. you can use control files - infacmd Control Files
An example of this is your mapping reads from a data object on connection TEST_DATA in the source environment, but will read from a connection called PROD_DATA on the target environment. These settings can be changed with control files.
Thank youuser126898 and Robert for quick response. I read the guides on export, import and the control files.
As for the Control files, what i understand from the guide is that using control files we can specify which all objects do we want to export/import, if we do not create the file, it would consider all the object within the project/folder. So,if i want the entire application to be imported i would not need to create a control file?
How do we import content sets? while importing an application containing content set we are getting the error: ICMD_10033: Informatica content set must be added to target/Err code and OIECMD_10007: The mark up declaration contained or pointed to by the document type declaration must be well formed.
We tried exporting an application without the content set and got was successful.
If you are exporting the full application and all dependent objects are identical in both systems e.g. the source project/folder and target project/folder, connection names etc. then a control file is not necessary.
The purpose of the control file is to allow you make the same modifications which are available if you export/import using the Developer tool wizards.
