You would need to connect to Redhat support for the best practices on patching the linux instances,
For EDC embedded cluster setup we have some prereq that we need from the cluster end wrt the repo's packages etc.

I'm not looking to resolve any specific issue we have encountered; our servers are very stable and running well. I am only wanting to ensure that we are following good practices to keep the Linux installations current. I will have our server administration team work with Red Hat on their patching policies. We do use an embedded cluster for EDC, so If there are specific requirements we need to follow regarding patching that affect those nodes we would like to review that and incorporate it into our practices.
I would recommend you to continue with the regular patching provided by RHEL.
Please refrain from making any upgrades to the RHEL version
