Thanks for posting, now I can try to explain (as far as I know the details).

              Let's look at the last example, Administrator | pmrep | NA | MH30021720... | 172.25.26.214 | <time> | <time> | 9288 | Active.

The first item is the repository user (actually the domain user) which owns this particular connection.

The next item is the executable which has requested to establish this connection to some repository. In this case it's the command-line utility pmrep (infos to be found in the Command Reference guide, part of the Informatica platform documentation and of the PowerCenter documentation set).

The NA in this case probably means that the connection has been closed and is no longer active. Otherwise you would see the domain name and the name of the repository service, similar to the third line of the second-last item which shows the "pmserver" executable (that's the program which runs an Integration Service).

The name MH30021720.*.* is the IP host name of the machine which established that connection.

The IP address 172.25.26.214 is the IP address of that same machine.

The first time is the time when the connection has been established.

About the second time I'm not sure (and too tired to look it up), this might be the last time when this connection has been used to transfer any data between the repository service process and the executable which started the process (the "last-used time", so to say).

The 9288 is the "connection ID". You can use this connection ID for certain commands of the command-line utility pmrep (such as "pmrep KillUserConnection").

It also shows up somewhere in the session logs of PowerCenter sessions, I just don't know off the top of my head in which cases.

The "Active" means that until now no time-out has occurred on the physical connection (the TCP/IP connection) between the server machine and the client machine (in this case MH30021720). If a certain period of time passes without any data being transferred over that TCP/IP connection, then eventually the connection is considered "broken" by the Administrator tool.

              Does that clarify your question?

              Regards,

              Nico

                hello nico,

thanks for your quick response .i understand the answer but here you observe that the integration service pings two times. i don't know why?

could give some more clarity regarding this.

                thank you ,@Nico Heinze

Not 100% sure, but as far as I understand the structure of the system, that's probably because each PowerCenter workflow is executed as an operating-system thread of the Integration Service process (the pmserver executable). That means that probably each running workflow is listed once .

Again, that's just my guess. It would definitely explain this behaviour.

                  Regards,

                  Nico

Integration services keep a connection pool on the RS . You can see many connections to the RS and not just one or two .

                    This is usual behavior .
