My question is what considerations need to happen in this scenario.
1. There is already an active production PowerCenter 10.x server for years.
2. What considerations need to be addressed when installing another PowerCenter 10.x server to take over should the existing server fail..
a. The new server needs to be installed and connected to the existing domain database as well as the repositories in the same configuration as the existing server.
b. If the existing production server should die, we need to be able to change the IP address to match the production server and put in place within 30 minutes.
Concerns: Would connecting another installation to an existing domain database overwrite anything that would invalidate the current production server?
Would connecting another installation to existing repositories overwrite anything that would invalidate that data?
