    Informatica Developer domain

      Hey Guys,

We're trying out Informatica developer 10.2.0.

We need to build a custom DQ rule for PIM to check if an attribute contains a certain purpose.

After installing the tool, we are stuck at the very first step.. adding a domain.

Is it correct to assume we need to add the hostname of the application server on which PIM is running ( and thus the repository file is found) ?

Or is the connection completly different ? (we also tried installing the tool on the PIM application server itself and going with 'localhost' as our HostName)

      Informatica Developer - add domain

Whatever setup we tried, we got the error message here beneath, any general guidelines on this tool ?

          Hi Ben,

if you only installed the Developer you will also need the IDQ Server with his Domain service to connect.

You should find most of the documentation at the KB or inside the Installation Manual.

Hint: At that point there is no linke to PIM as the rules are only exported from IDQ and Imported to P360. There is no direct Interface.

          Best Regards

            Hi Ralph,

            Thanks for the fast response!

Yeah.. we only have the Developer right now. Our IDQ is standard integraded in our JOB server, we don't have a separate server for this (yet). Setting up a separate for the IDQ module, is this a standard possibility in a PIM360 package (like the Audittrail or Websearch services)? Or is this a new service outside of the P360 package ?

            Kind Regards,

            Ben

              Hi Ben,

only the SDK runtime is included into P360 and it can not be used for Developing

So yes the IDQ is a separate Installation which is not linked to P360 Server and needs an extra license to run.

So best will be a shipping case (select Data Quality) to get license and software download links

              Best Regards

              Ralph
