As of now ,We do not recommend querying MRS data to pull out statistics via queries sue to the complex nature of MRS.Since your use case is to get reports on the longest running or poor performing mappings and workflows, this can be viewed collectively for all jobs run under a single DIS from monitor tab>Execution statistics>DIS> reports tab. You can find more about monitoring reports in below document:
With all due respect: does that mean there is no automatic way (i.e. which can be executed by background Jobs without any GUI access) to retrieve run-time Information from a MRS???
Your understanding is correct. MRS is a hibernate based repository where objects are stored as relations between java classes and relational objects. So its not easy to query information from MRS as in PC RS.So we have exposed very basic functionalities from UI or in form of DB views. Also querying and accessing MRS directly is not recommended as it can lead to inconsistencies in the hibernate models. Hence we are working on developing APIs which can help customers get required information from MRS. I hope this helps.
that indeed clarifies a lot, in particular why it's so ugly difficult (to say at least) to get any information from the MRS in an automated fashion. And I better not publish my personal feelings about this topic here.
Thanks a million and kind regards,
