A former colleague of me has written a migration tool for almost exactly this task. This tool can automatically almost every PowerCenter object (sometimes unconnected Stored Procedures were not migrated when I have talked to him for the last time) to ICS.
Yes, I know, ICS is not IICS.
But I do know that he was working on a migration tool to IICS as well. It's just that I can't tell about the current status of this endeavour.
If you want to talk to him, please search for Thomas Bennett; the last time I've talked to him he was at Unico Solutions (that was in early 2017), but I can't tell whether he's still working for them.
@Thomas, if you're no longer working in this area, I beg your pardon for being so rude.
Thank you for your reply,
If not the tool what is the other way Nico ?
there is a new tool called PC2Cloud which is available as service and you can contact your account rep/CSM for more info. Note that it's not available as product but available as service.
Thank you Nitin.
I will look at the above service option.
If not I need to move them manually one by one ?
I am writing 2 years after your post. The company I work for hired Informatica Services for this conversion, who are using that tool.
Like any conversion tool, it does its job with limitations. Those were naturally out of scope and we are having to deal with them ourselves (like java transformations).
The other thing is that because it is meant to cater for all scenarios, it adds a lot of unnecessary transforms to the mapping and unnecessary tasks to the taskflow. We are having to streamline those ourselves for the sake for maintenance.
The first conversion tool was not the best. The current V2 tool is much better and the IPS engagement now converts everything, automatic and manual, things over and makes sure they are correct.
It is much better now.
I didn't say the converted code is not functional. I just meant to say it has its limitations in terms of what it can convert and the unnecessary pieces of code it generates.
BTW - I guess Informatica Services must be using the new version of the utility as they are converting our workflows at this point. Actually, the tool does not convert everything so they left parts of our workflows out of scope.
You can open a new thread with screenshots and the issue in detail to look into it further .
Actually, I have spoken to the Informatica migration team helping us with this and asked them to open tickets with Informatica Support.
