Upgrade the connection type

If you are accessing Microsoft Azure Synapse SQL using the Microsoft Azure Synapse SQL ODBC connection, Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse V1 connection, or Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse V2 connection, you can upgrade to the newer Microsoft Azure Synapse SQL connection.
If you switch the Microsoft Azure Synapse SQL ODBC connection to Microsoft Azure Synapse SQL connection, the object is not retained. You must re-import the Microsoft Azure Synapse SQL object.
The configured advanced source, target, and lookup properties in the fields that are common between the two connectors are retained in the new connector. You also have the option to retain the configured field mapping from the old mapping.
You can run the mapping successfully using the configured values from the old connector. You can additionally configure features that the enhanced Microsoft Azure Synapse SQL Connector offers.
Note: If you are using the Microsoft Azure Synapse SQL ODBC connection, Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse V1 connection, or Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse V2 connection in mappings to read from or write data to Microsoft Azure Synapse SQL, Informatica recommends you to use the Microsoft Azure Synapse SQL connection to make use of the features that the enhanced connector offers.
