Mappings, elastic mappings, and mapping tasks with Hive Connector overview

Use the Data Integration Mapping Designer to create a mapping or an elastic mapping. When you create a mapping or elastic mapping, you configure a source or target to represent a Hive object.
Describe the flow of data from source and target along with the required transformations before the agent writes data to the target.
Select the mapping or elastic mapping that you want to use in a mapping task. Use the Mapping Task wizard to create a mapping task. The mapping task processes data based on the data flow logic you define in the mapping.
An elastic mapping uses Data Integration Elastic to run Hive jobs from Cloud Data Integration in a Spark engine infrastructure. When you run an elastic job, the Secure Agent starts the elastic cluster and pushes the job to the cluster for processing.
