Configuring Proxy Settings

If your organization uses an outgoing proxy server to connect to the internet, the Secure Agent connects to Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services through the proxy server. Contact your network administrator for the correct proxy settings.
You can configure the proxy settings on a Windows machine through the JVM options or the proxy.ini file. If you specify both, JVM options take precedence.
Note: Informatica recommends that you use the JVM options to configure the proxy settings.

Configuring Proxy Settings through JVM Options

Perform the following steps to configure the proxy settings through the JVM options:
  1. 1. Log in to Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services.
  2. 2. Open Administrator and select Runtime Environments.
  3. 3. Select the Secure Agent for which you want to configure a proxy server.
  4. 4. On the upper-right corner of the page, click Edit.
  5. 5. In the System Configuration Details section, select the Type as DTM for the Data Integration Service.
  6. If it is an authenticated proxy, add the following parameters in any JVM option field and specify appropriate values for each parameter:
    Parameter
    Description
    -Dhttps.proxyHost
    Host name of the outgoing HTTPS proxy server.
    -Dhttps.proxyPort
    Port number of the outgoing HTTPS proxy server.
    -Dhttps.proxyUser
    User name to connect to the HTTPS proxy server.
    -Dhttps.proxyPassword
    Password to connect to the HTTPS proxy server.
    For example,
    JVMOption1=-Dhttps.proxyHost=<proxy_server_hostname>
    JVMOption2=-Dhttps.proxyPort=<port number>
    JVMOption3=-Dhttps.proxyUser=<User name>
    JVMOption4=-Dhttps.proxyPassword=<password>
    If it is an unauthenticated proxy, add the following parameters in any JVM option field and specify appropriate values for each parameter:
    Parameter
    Description
    -Dhttps.proxyHost
    Host name of the outgoing HTTPS proxy server.
    -Dhttps.proxyPort
    Port number of the outgoing HTTPS proxy server.
  7. 6. Click Save.
  8. The Secure Agent restarts to apply the settings.

Configuring Proxy Settings through proxy.ini File

Perform the following steps to configure the proxy settings through the proxy.ini file:
  1. 1. Stop the Secure Agent.
  2. 2. Go to the Secure Agent Folder.
  3. 3. In the conf/ sub-folder, open the proxy.ini file.
  4. 4. If it is an authenticated proxy, define the following parameters in the proxy.ini file:
  5. Parameters
    Description
    InfaAgent.ProxyHost=
    Host name of the proxy server that the Secure Agent uses.
    InfaAgent.ProxyPort=
    Port number of the proxy server.
    InfaAgent.ProxyUser=
    User name to connect to the proxy server.
    InfaAgent.ProxyPassword=
    Password to connect to the proxy server.
    InfaAgent.ProxyPasswordEncrypted=
    Set the value to false.
    If it is an unauthenticated proxy, define the following parameters in the proxy.ini file:
    Parameters
    Description
    InfaAgent.ProxyHost=
    Host name of the proxy server that the Secure Agent uses.
    InfaAgent.ProxyPort=
    Port number of the proxy server.
  6. 5. Save the proxy.ini file.
  7. 6. Start and then stop the Secure Agent.
  8. 7. Click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and restart the Secure Agent.
