When you create group using ./infacmd.sh isp (9.x) / infacmd.sh (8.X) , it is created native security/LDAP security Domain (Purely depends what security domain you have).
There is no Child group concept in Informatica, So henceforth whenever you create group using "infacmd isp CreateGroup command"
There can be only 2 security Domains, Both these LDAP and Native acts as Parent group
So when ever you create group using infacmd /or from GUI INF admin console , you need to choose any one of these groups and create the sub group with in it.
Runing from /infa/server/bin
./infacmd.sh CreateGroup -dn(domain_name) -un(user_name) -pd(password) -sdn(native/LDAP) -hp(gateway_host1:port) -gn(group Name) -ds(description
On Group movement, well you can move Whole native security domain to LDAP security domain( For that You need to configure the LDAP server) and then you can move the groups both Parent (native) and all residing groups to LDAP. Need to follow proper approach on it.
Hope this helps you!!
But what is my requirement here is In Admin Console, I can create a group named XXX and create a subgroup inside XXX as YYY, where YYY is the sub -group and XXX is the main group.
I have no problems in doing this via Admin Console GUI but i don't have any commands in infacmd to do it via console.
Also about movement, i mean the same. i can drag a group into another group in same domain (Native) and create a main group and sub group. but is this is not possible via infacmd. ?
Hope am more clear this time !
Oh okay, now your requirement is clear, sorry I missed it earlier.
That's correct you can create sub folder and select desired folder as parent folder in the security domain.
Through Infacmd you should also achive it. Though I havent tried it yet.
Let me do some test in my POC Env and give you the command.
You are absolutely right. We can do it from admin console.
We had tried to create similar subgroups using command. However, we were not able to do it from command so did that from admin console. At that moment we were using PC 8.6.1. I am not sure in new versions of Informatica this feature has been added or not. But it was not there in 8.6.1.
I tried finding cmd for your requirement, but no success, eems there is no such command to create subgroups. But I dont think so, there should be way via CMD line too. Can you please check with INFA Support on the same?
][/apps/informatica901/server/bin]>./infacmd.sh isp CreateGroup
[ICMD_10023] Missing required command option: [<-DomainName|-dn>]
[<-Gateway|-hp> gateway_host1:port gateway_host2:port...]
Its not there even in 9.1 HF4 version.
Thanks Rohit for confirmation.
@Ramalingam - As suggested by Rohit you could raise an SR. INFA Global Support is the official body to confirm it.
ok ! I wil try to get some answers from informatica for this.
This is still an outstanding enhancement request tracked under CR 249485
Thanks Sachin !
Any expected date when this will be available.
Any ETA on this?
So far, I cannot do this even in 10.4.1.
Most likely not going to ever happen. PowerCenter is officially End of Sale and only in support mode for existing customers.
is there any official statement available from Informatica about this?
And what implications does this End Of Sale have? Regarding support periods, new versions, enhancements and so on?

There is no official statement because it is EOS and not EOL.
Implications are unless the customer meets certain criteria PowerCenter is not an option. We are moving all customers to IICS.
Support periods still apply and we will continue to support existing things such as new databases already supported.
Enhancements.....you will see nothing. We have even removed PWX for Cloud and Big data for existing customers unless they already purchased it.
Buying PowerCenter today would be like buying Hadoop.
