Also please note that you should look for the Support Statements regarding Java versions pre-installed; this is - to say at least - dangerous in most cases, you should make sure that - no matter whether you mean the Developer client or the PowerCenter tools - no JDK must be present in the environment of the Windows PC on which you're trying to install the client tools. Both the Developer client and the PowerCenter clients have their own JDK built into them, and you should not temper with this version.
