1. Re: Which Shared Drive (SAN or NFS) will be good in terms of performance in Informatica Grid Architecture?
nheinze Aug 27, 2015 1:57 AM (in response to salilnaik87)First there are several Support Statements about shared file systems in general and NFS in particular which you should study before making any decision here. These Support Statements can be found on the My Support portal or here: Support Statements
Second there are quite a few good Velocity articles (generic stuff and Best Practices) about this stuff. Again, you will have to know exactly which version of PowerCenter / the platform you will install because things have changed over time (e.g. NFS support for shared file systems).
Take your time to browse through all that stuff, it's worth reading. Last year I have executed a Proof of Concept where this setup was an integral part. I cannot share any documents, but the general hints above should point you into the right direction.

Nico

Informatica Support Statement for PowerCenter HA file system from 9.6 version
Also you can check this KB about File Systems supported by Informatica:

7. Re: Which Shared Drive (SAN or NFS) will be good in terms of performance in Informatica Grid Architecture?
Nico Heinze Feb 23, 2021 2:27 AM (in response to niti rawat)Yep, that's always a problem: sometimes the locations of various documents change, and so the old links are no longer valid. That's one reason why I hesitate to post links and instead prefer to "describe" where these documents can be found (because these descriptions often stay valid during any re-organisation of the forum).
As a general note, if things haven't changed considerably during the past five years (I know, that's a long time), NFS is supported but still is not the best possible choice. A "real" NAS probably will yield better performance and stability.
@Sahrat and David, thanks a million for posting correct links.
Regards,
Nico
