This can be done through any Task automation tool like Jenkins, GitLab, BitBucket and also through something very simple as a batch script. Jenkins and similar Task automation tools make it easier for the user to do so as these provide native Git Integration, credentials management and friendly UI (not to forget, lot of samples on the web).
You can easily do so in a batch/shell script. You may want to replicate the commands in the Jenkins pipeline (Automated Backup of IICS Assets - Continuous Integration using IICS Asset Management CLI and Jenkins Pipeline and Automated Deployment of IICS assets - Continuous Integration using the IICS Asset Management CLI and Jenkins Pipeline ) in a batch script. That should do the trick. CLI was intended for catch-all scenarios and not just tied to one or more Task automation tools.
