1. Re: Period start date and Period end date when update through IDD
Sathiesh M Jan 23, 2020 8:31 PM (in response to Rahul Yadav)If you leave the Start and End date blank all the time, it will just overwrite the same XREF.
But if populating different start or end date, it will create new XREF

Rahul Yadav Jan 27, 2020 7:33 AM (in response to Rahul Yadav)Hello Sathiesh
Thank you for providing details. As per your comment, if Start and End dates are black then same XREF is get updated. So we will distinguish the value is from source or from IDD?
Regarding links provided - These links are not working. It gives me message 'Page not found'

3. Re: Period start date and Period end date when update through IDD
kunal pandit Jan 27, 2020 10:38 PM (in response to Rahul Yadav)Rahul - The new XREF will get created if no XREF exists for the IDD source system. This is true for all BOs, time-line enabled or not. The period start and end date will only come into picture after the above logic has been applied to confirm whether a new record needs to be created or not based on the source system.

4. Re: Period start date and Period end date when update through IDD
Rahul Yadav Jan 28, 2020 5:19 AM (in response to Rahul Yadav)Thank you, Kunal for confirming that new XREF will be created for IDD source system, if it does not exist before. What will be period start and end date for such record (record from IDD source)?
e.g.
SOURCE PERIOD_START_DATE PERIOD_END_DATE
ABC 12-march-1990 12-Mar-2030
IDD ??? ???

6. Re: Period start date and Period end date when update through IDD
Rahul Yadav Feb 3, 2020 8:14 AM (in response to Rahul Yadav)Hello Prabakar
If values are not provided then which record will be survived in BO? One with values or one with null values for period_start_date/period_end_date?

7. Re: Period start date and Period end date when update through IDD
Sathiesh M Feb 3, 2020 11:18 AM (in response to Rahul Yadav)The above scenario is not possible, if source ABC created the record and you’re updating it in IDD, because by default IDD will take the existing timeline.
Assuming the other way, if record created thru IDD with infinite start and end dates (blank dates) and then Load by Rowid of ABC into this rowid will have no effect. With IDD being the highest trusted system and with longer start and end dates, will survive there.

So you are saying that whatever Prabakar mentioned is not correct. Also, the link one which you provided in earlier comment is not working. Do you have any working link.
