The Austin Informatica Users Meetup group does not show up in searches on the Meetup app. Is this group no longer active?
The last meeting I can see mentioned on the Meetup website for this group was in December 2015.
Meetup.com is not a great option for sharing information, as many corporate networks do not allow access to that website.
The last meeting of that meetup group occurred in 2015.
Is there a more current link or venue for organizing gatherings of the Austin Informatica Users?
Unfortunately, no, this group has been idle for quite a while now.
There has been interest from some of the Austin area customers, but no customer has stepped in and made things happen.
Shannon - I just checked and that Austin group does still exist on Meetup. Here is the link to type into your phone/tablet if you're not able to access it from your corporate device: https://www.meetup.com/Austin-Informatica-User-Group
I agree with you that most of the groups on this Informatica Network site and the Meetup site are inactive and there should be a process for deleting an inactive group. However if the group is listed here on the Informatica Network then I also keep the Meetup group link on the home page as long as the user group leader is still paying to maintain the Meetup group.
Meetup costs the organizer about $200 dollars per year and Informatica does not reimburse the user group leaders for this cost. Out of respect for the person who is volunteering their time and money to pay for this inactive Meetup group, I want to support them as much as possible in the hope that someone will step up to resurrect the group and start organizing future meetings.
Please review the content. That group held 5 events in 2014 and 2015. Nothing has happened since and no one is processing new requests to join. Attempting to participate in networking through that venue leads to a dead end. This is a very frustrating experience for your users.
