I noticed there will now be Kafka support in IICS according to 2019 Winter Release notes. Is there any documentation you can share?
Whats the use case with Kafka? Do you want to ingest data from Kafka onto a lake? or do you have the use case to ingest streaming data onto Kafka? If you provide the details, would be happy to provide details.
Thank for following up. I am working on basic pub/sub pattern using IICS on. Our main use case is the need to decouple integrations. I have setup Kafka and Zookeeper, configured a producer, consumer, topic, etc., on windows. I have managed to send a message from producer to a given topic and echo it on the consumer side, all on windows command prompt console.
I have successfully written a simple (producer) IICS App Integration process to mimic the producer side above using the Kafka connector and have it echo on the consumer consumer console above. I am however not sure how to approach writing an IICS process which reads/consumes data from a kafka topic. It looks like the Kafka connector consumer actions are not available for selection in the process even though I was able to add such actions to the connector itself.
There are any update?
I'm trying to create a process using Kakfa connection but without success.
There is a kafka connector available in Informatica Cloud (IICS) under Cloud Application Integration Service starting Spring 2019 release. This should suffice for your integration requirements as it provides supports for reading from / writing into Kafka topics
More details are available on our Online Help @ https://network.informatica.com/onlinehelp/IICS/prod/CAI/en/index.htm#page/icrt-kafka-connector-guide/Preface.html. We will soon be adding an example (as a video and running sample) here.
