First Topic DevOps for Informatica PowerCenter in a Secure Environment
CrossVista Company Overview

CrossVista is a US-based software company that has developed a unique solution for enterprise applications (including Informatica PowerCenter) that automates and manages the change process across the SDLC. CrossVista's object-based solution eliminates the need to write complex scripts to build and deploy software releases.  We enable you with the ability improve process, speed, efficiency, visibility, audit, and control of application changes.

Presentation Overview: A leading international commercial bank with branches and offices in almost 50 countries. This organization has leveraged Informatica PowerCenter since 2010 as their strategic solution to support data aggregation processes which form the basis for all reporting, management, financial planning, etc.

Key Challenges:
1)  BUILD - Project required coordination of PowerCenter, File, Script, and Database assets.  Coordinating those different dependent assets in “build” phase was a complex, manual, error-prone, and time-intensive process.
2)  TRANSPORT - Secure environments required the transfer and coordination of the various asset types (stored in multiple locations).  Moving changes from Dev to Test… or Test to Prod was a process in and of itself.
3)  DEPLOY - This was a large project and execution of the deployment script required ~6 1/2 hours.  This was well outside the 2-hour internal company SLA so the organization was always in violation of internal SLAs.  This also affected how agile they could be because each update (fix or feature) required a significant interruption.

Solution:  We will walk thru how CrossVista TEAM Server stream-lined and coordinated the end-to-end SDLC for all asset types (Informatica PowerCenter, Database, Files, & Scripts) across Dev to Test and Prod, simplified the transport of changes between environments, and reduced typical deployment times from ~6 1/2 hours to under an hour while improving overall quality of releases and reducing deployment issues.  We will also provide a short demonstration of core features.

Second Topic: By SnowFlake:  Wrangling semi-structured data in the Cloud
Speaker Bio: Brad Ganas is an Information Management professional with 18 years’ experience in the Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Analytics disciplines. He has worked in both sales and delivery of DW/BI solutions and products in multiple verticals.  His focus has been on positioning and implementation of Big Data platforms in organizations.  He has a strong commitment to helping organizations use data more strategically to increase revenue, decrease costs, drive improved efficiencies and leverage new opportunities.  Brad currently runs the Presales organization for Snowflake Computing, a Silicon Valley innovator focused on reinventing Big Data for the cloud.

Presentation Overview
The Cloud, Mobile and Web Applications are producing semi-structured data at an unprecedented rate. IT professionals continue to struggle capturing, transforming, and analyzing these complex data structures mixed with traditional relational style datasets using on-premises Hadoop or MPP solutions. Public cloud infrastructures such as Amazon and Azure provide almost unlimited resources and scalability to handle both structured and semi-structured data (XML, JSON, AVRO) at Petabyte scale. These infrastructures combined with new processing engines allow organizations and businesses new opportunities to leverage analytics at an unprecedented scale while greatly simplifying data pipeline architectures and providing an alternative to the "data lake.
