    ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS

              (US East 6) Nov 8, 2020 (9:00 PM PST - 11.59 PM PST).

    CLOUD DATA INTEGRATION

Issue: Windows Secure Agent Oracle/SQL Server tasks failing with error "CMN_1022 [ Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 126: The specified module could not be found. (DataDirect CLOSED 8.0 Oracle Wire Protocol for Informatica - R34, <agent.install.dir>\drivers\odbc\datadirect\r34\dwora28.dll)

    - This issue is being caused due to the Windows Registry not being updated. This can happen due to permission restrictions on the Agent machine preventing the Registry update needed during the upgrade.

Solution: Please refer to this KB for the solution: 633877

Issue: Hive and Hadoop Connections failing in IICS post Fall '20 Upgrade

Solution: Please refer to this document for solution: Hive and Hadoop Connections failing in IICS post Fall 2020 Upgrade

Issue: DIS service stuck in "Starting Up" state post upgrade.

Solution: Please refer to this document for solution: Data Integration Server Stuck in Starting Up state post R35 upgrade.

    CLOUD APPLICATION INTEGRATION

Issue: Process Server restarts right after the upgrade automatically:

Solution: With the Fall '20 upgrade, we will have an “immediate and automatic” Process Server service restart on all agents licensed for "API and App Integration". This is because of a major update to the Process Server agent package. This update to the Process Engine package does not impact other services running on the agent. Please consider this valid and allow the service to restart and there is no further action needed.

Cloud Data Integration Connector FAQ (Applicable for ALL PODS)

    Issue
    Solution
    Reference
SAP Table Reader Mappings Enabled for Delta Extraction has been enhanced and transports need to be updated

To configure delta extraction in mappings using SAP Table Reader Connector in Fall 2020, you must install the following SAP Table Reader connection transport files on the SAP machines:

    TABLE_READER_R900090.EP6

    TABLE_READER_K900090.EP6

After the upgrade, if you do not install the SAP Table Reader connection transport files, existing mappings from earlier releases that were configured for delta extraction using the SAP Table Reader Connector fail. There is no impact to SAP Table Reader mappings that are enabled for 0 - Full as the Data Extraction Mode.

IICS Fall '20 October Release -Change for SAP Table Reader Mappings Enabled for Delta Extraction

Kafka connector with SSL and FQDN

Customers who are using SSL Security will be impacted if they are not using a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) in connection properties and in certificates.

Use the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) as stated in point1 to avoid “SSL Handshake Error”.

    1. E.g.- if you are using broker details as abcxyz2cld000:9000 then you have to replace it with abcxyz2cld000.informatica.com:9000

Note: Solution can be implemented now only to avoid any upgrade issue after Fall 2020.

Potential change in task behavior due to Pushdown Optimization

If you have a mapping for which you have enabled Pushdown Optimization (PDO) in the Mapping Task (see screenshot in the reference document), Informatica will now attempt to run it in Pushdown mode. In such cases, there is a possibility that the result of the mapping may not match the result you have been observing so far. You can take either of the steps below to avoid any unexpected behavior:

    • If you had intentionally configured this with the expectation of a pushdown behavior you can leave it as-is. However, once your org is updated please review the results a few times to ensure those are as expected.
    • Otherwise, edit the tasks and delete the “Pushdown Optimization” entry from the Advanced Session Properties section on the “Schedule” page of the Mapping Task wizard, and save the task again. You can always reconfigure it back in the future if needed.
