Product360 - Flex UI enhancements

  • The flexible UI can now be accessed also without the context of a task. This can be done by using the Action Menu in Web UI and works for products, variants and items in any main table.

URL access to flexible UI with predefined dataset

  • Now the flexible Web UI can be accessed without creating a task via an URL. The URL should contain all necessary entities specified. The syntax is very similar to the REST functionality.

New "Open Flex UI" action menu item

  • A new "Open Flex UI" action menu item was introduced. It is visible only in Item, Product and Variant views. It opens the selected items in a flexible UI template. When clicked, the item generates an URL and uses it to open the Flex UI in a new browser tab. The URL depends on the view where the item was clicked. The URL could be copy-pasted and reused again.

Mass-edit flex component header

  • This feature allows in Flex UI to have multi-selection of objects and update a field (like "Status") for all of them at once.
  • Upload and delete media assets of Media Flex UI

Informatica PIM 7.1 Hotfix 5 fixes several limitations of the product as well as provides new extension abilities for projects.

Please contact the Informatica Support if you plan to install that Hotfix. Furthermore this Hotfix provides several add-on features which are listed below.

Classification

Deletion of structure assignments for Items/Products/Variants (PIM Desktop)

The deletion of structure assignments was redesigned to improve the performance and usability. Now the corresponding menu entry shows no sub-menues for each structure.

1.jpg

Instead, a "Structure selection dialog" appears where the user can select one or more structures to delete the corresponding structure assignments of the selected items.

2.jpg

The new behavior is especially useful in cases, when there are large amount of structures and the user has selected a large amount of items before using the menu entry.

Data Quality

New DQ rule "Check_Equal"

The new DQ rule "Check_Equal" checks if the two fields assigned to its input ports have the same value.

Differentiation between Standard and Custom Rule Configurations

Predefined data quality configuration sets from the GDSN accelerator and own custom rules are now clearly separated. The reasons for this are:

  • Transparent rule management. No confusions what are standard and what are custom rule configurations
  • No manual merge of standard and custom rules any longer when updated versions of the standard configuration set are delivered

There are some steps needed to migrate existing rule configurations if the standard rule configuration set has been used prior to 7.1.05. Please refer to the Knowledge Base section 'Migration of DQ Rule Configurations to 7.1.05' in the '1WorldSync IM Accelerator installation' chapter to learn how to do this.

The PIM Desktop Client now separates clearly between standard and custom rule configurations.

  • Standard configurations are always sorted to the top of the configurations list.
  • Standard configurations are read only, which is indicated by the lock symbol at each of such configuration elements.
  • All actions for selected standard configuration elements are now disabled, except for
    • Create category. New categories are always created as custom ones.
    • Copy configuration to be able to create new custom configurations based on standard ones.
  • If a standard configuration element is selected the detail area on the right side is disabled as well.

3.jpg

Multiselection in the Data quality configuration view

The user can now select multiple entries in the Data quality configuration view.  Continuous regions can be selected using SHIFT + click.

Disconnected entries can be added to the selection via Control + click. The available actions in the toolbar and the context menu depend on the type and number of entries that are selected.

  • "Delete" is only available if all selected entries are in the custom area (see below)
  • Rename is only available if a single element has been selected and it is in the custom area.

For the multi selection behavior of the new menu entries see below.

Cut, Copy & Paste for Data Quality Rule Configurations

The Data quality configuration view now offers the possibility to cut, copy and paste rule configurations.

4.jpg5.jpg

The Copy action is only available if the selection solely consists of rule configuration elements and all of them have the same data type (determined by their respective group).

The Cut action is only available if the selection solely consists of rule configuration elements, all of them have the same data type and all reside in the custom area.

After invoking Cut the affected rule configurations are marked visually using italics for the name until the Paste is invoked or the content of the cut/copy buffer is replaced by invoking Cut or Copy.

Note: the user can only Paste once after a Cut operation while the Paste can be repeated many times after a Copy.

The Paste action is only available if

  • rule configurations have been cut or copied before
  • the selected element in the tree is a rule configuration group
  • the selected group is a custom group (writable), also see section about configuration separation
  • the selected group has the same data type as the original group that has been copied

Cloning Data Quality Rule Configurations

The Data quality configuration view now offers the possibility to clone a rule configuration. Simply select one or more custom rule configurations and select "Clone" from the context menu. Each rule configuration will be cloned within its current parent group. The clone operation is not available if the selection contains standard rule configurations or group or category elements.

6.jpg

Hiding Data Quality Rule Configurations

The Data quality configuration view may contain a lot of rule configurations that are currently not used in the system and clutter the UI in all the places where a rule has to be selected, e.g.;

  • definition of the rule configurations for a channel
  • definition of scheduled DQ checks
  • selection of rule configurations for DQ executions
  • selection of quality status fields for specific rules in a table

To reduce the clutter it is now possible to hide rule configurations. When hidden a rule configuration remains visible in the configuration view but is hidden in all the other views and dialogs visible to end users.

A hidden rule configuration is visually marked by displaying the rule name in gray instead of black in the tree and via a checkmark in the detail view.

Hiding is available for both standard and custom rule configurations. Hiding can either be performed via the context menu or the checkmark in the detail view. The later only works for custom rule configurations as the detail view is read-only for standard rule configurations.

7.jpg8.jpg

Note: Hiding a rule configuration will also remove any existing channel assignments from it!

GDSN Accelerator – 1WorldSync Item Management

Publication status: possibility to see the history of publication status entries (PIM Desktop)

The "Publication status" view was enhanced with the possibility to also display deleted status entries. To see the deleted entries just use the new button in the view toolbar "Show also deleted entries" (see screenshot).

9.jpg

To determine which entries are deleted it is recommended to add the field "Deleted on" into the view. Once the field is displayed the user can sort or group by this field to differentiate deleted and "alive" entries.

The field "Deleted on" doesn't exist by default in standard repository but it can be added to the customer repository easily:

10.jpg

Automatic calculation of the "Volume" (PIM Desktop and PIM Web)

The value of the "Volume" field will be calculated automatically based on the values of the fields "Height", "Width" and "Depth". The "Volume" field can not be edited in the user interface. For the calculation all three required values should be set, otherwise the "Volume" has no value.

11.jpg

HINT: the calculation of the "Volume" doesn't care about the consistency of the units of the underlying fields ("Height", "Width" and "Depth"). To ensure that all measurement fields have the same unit - the corresponding data quality rule has to be used.

New Data Quality Rule and Rule Configurations

The new DQ rule "Check_EqualWith3Values" is now available in the accelerator package. It checks if the three fields assigned to its input ports all have the same value.

Also the following standard GDSN rule configurations are introduced:

  • Check 'Height UOM', 'Width UOM' and 'Depth UOM' are equal (TM: US, imperial)
  • Check 'Gross weight UOM' and 'Net weight UOM' are equal (TM: US, imperial)

PAM for Informatica MDM Product360 8.0

Informatica PIM 7.1 Hotfix 4 fixes several limitations of the product as well as provides new extension abilities for projects. Please contact the Informatica Support if you plan to install that Hotfix. Furthermore this Hotfix provides several add-on features which are listed below.

PIM Desktop

Additional Language Packs

  • Italian and Korean Country Packs have been added and can from now on be added on to the license of Informatica PIM.

Informatica Data Quality Integration

  • Support of multiple languages for error messages of the standard DQ rule package

Different Values for Boolean Attributes if you work in Cumulative and single selection

  • Boolean attribute values are no longer formatted in the views since this is error prone and has to be implemented in several places. Boolean attribute Values are stored in the database as 0 or 1. In the UI however, the user wants to see the label "Yes" or "No" in the qualified language.

Compare View

The compare view has been enhanced in several ways:

  • The elements in the tree will display an icon for categories, entities and for logical key fields
  • Entities will now also display their logical key values (including tool tip), e.g. "Attribute (Color)"
  • Logical key fields are now always on top

Merge compare view

  • The "Show only differences" filter in the merge compare view now only compares the current base master catalog item with the simulated to-be-merged master catalog item.
  • By ignoring the supplier item in that case, the view will be an accurate preview how the master item will look after the merge.

Sort order of fields in import perspective and merge settings

  • There is a new setting for the import perspective to sort the fields in the repository view just like the field selection dialog (categories are sorted by repository order, field names are sorted by display name). This behavior is inactive by default and can be activated in the plugin_customization.ini. There is also a new setting for the merge settings to sort the fields just like the field selection dialog (field names are sorted by display name). This behavior is inactive by default and can be activated in the plugin_customization.ini.

Integration of Mozilla browser for the RichText-Editor

  • To solve a lot of issues in RichText-Editor area, which were caused by the defective integration of the Internet Explorer in SWT, another browser component will be used for the RichText-Editor: XULRunner.

Export of article type based attributes and features

  • The default behavior of the export can get changed for attribute and feature submodules with new preferences. Those are responsible for the conversion of attribute and feature values with numeric datatypes. It is now possible to define if an attribute values should be converted in a numeric value of the client locale. Furthermore it's possible to define if there should be a thousand separator in the attribute or feature values.

Classification: Overwriting of attribute values

  • When classifying items/products to a structure group, by default structure group attribute values in whole (which means first value, second value, display order and reserved fields) are now only written to the article attribute, if the first value is not empty and if the corresponding article attribute first value is empty.

PIM Supplier Portal

Release of Total Supplier Relationship Application

  • The Total Supplier Relationship application enables the supply chain, sourcing, and buying teams to centralize and streamline the end-to-end process of managing supplier relationships and inventory. It also fuels applications with clean, consistent, and connected supplier or vendor information.
  • The Total Supplier Relationship application is based on Informatica MDM and allows to combine the Supplier data domain with the product data domain. Informatica PIM Supplier Portal can be used as integral part of the overall solution. For more information about the application please visit https://www.informatica.com/tsr.

PIM Server

JPA / Hibernate logging

There is now a new UdaAppender in the log4j.xml which can be used to log the executed HQL/SQL queries and the stored procedure calls.

  • Setting org.hibernate.SQL to TRACE will log the SQL statements generated by Hibernate
  • Setting UDA to TRACE will log the HQL statements generated by PIM
  • Setting UDA to TRACE and db.default.debug.show_sql to true in the server.properties file will log the stored procedure calls

The new created log file is named .uda.log.

Log events via email

  • There is a new MailAppender in the log4j.xml of the PIM server which can send the corresponding log events via email.
  • Depending on the configuration, the email can also include a zip file containing all log files from the PIM server's log folder.
  • All mails will be sent using the PIM server's mail service which can be configured in the server.properties file. By default, the MailAppender is not active.

UpdateTasksJob and CheckTaskEscalatedJob

  • The scheduler for both jobs have been adjusted, they now expect a cron expression instead of a simple millisecond repeat interval.
  • Default plugin_customation.ini entries default to daily at 24 hours for the UpdateTasksJob resp. a 2 hours repeat interval for the CheckTaskEscalatedJob.

Map referenced data types to input ports

  • It is now possible to map fields of referenced data types to data quality input ports. The field selection dialog contains entries pointing to other root data types which can be used to navigate to its fields.
  • This functionality enables for example to create a rule for the prices of an item that also incorporates the prices of its referenced items:

1.jpg

2.png.jpg

Export of article type based attributes and features

  • Since PIM 7.0 attribute and feature values are saved as 0 or 1 while maintain them over the PIM.
  • Due to this, the behavior of the export has been changed for attribute and feature submodules. There’s an additional preference which is responsible for the conversion of attribute/feature values with the datatype 'logical value' into the language specific boolean label. This conversion result looks the same as the values showing in the PIM UI. By default the preference is true.

Assortment filtering in search

With PIM 7.1.03 it is possible to add an assortment filter to the PIM item search, which restricts the search result to those items matching the search criteria AND contained in the provided assortment. The assortment filter has been added to the search parameter object, meaning that it is persisted when a search is saved. Same applies for product and variant search.

3.jpg

Supplier Portal

Auto-delete mechanism for already deleted files

Data uploaded through the Supplier Portal is physically stored on the Supplier Portal Web Server before it is send to the PIM Server for import. The storage of such files is now temporary and by a configuration property it is possible to set the time frame the file should be available on the web server before it gets deleted.

Setting can be found under configuration.properties: "removeOldImportFiles.productFiles.olderThan"

Supplier Administrator role can now be switched between different Supplier Users

As a Supplier Administrator or Portal Administrator a user may now be able to assign the role of the Administrator user for a specific Supplier Organization to another user. The settings and properties on whether a Supplier Administrator or a Portal Administrator is allowed to change the Administrator is defined in the configuration.properties.

Access timeline entry directly from the import report

Since this version it is possible to directly access the timeline thread of an import from any test run or import report dialog directly via a link.
