Informatica Master Data Management (MDM) Multidomain for Oracle 9.5.1 contains a roll-up of EBFs as well as additional bug fixes.
Highlights of this release are as follows:
• IDD Import: The IDD Import feature which enables data stewards to upload an excel or character delimited text file containing master data relating to a particular master data type (Customer, Product, etc.) directly through the IDD UI. Stewards can also use the Import feature to update existing Master Data records with new information.
• IDD Data View Redesign: Data View redesign which provides data stewards convenient access to Cross-Reference, Merge and History views of Master Data using vertically tabbed navigation.
• Japanese Localization: The MDM Hub now supports the Japanese language out-of-the-box.
• Stabilization and Performance: Strong focus was placed on improving the stability of the product and improving the performance of core MDM
The Duplicate Prevention control, a new Informatica Data Control, provides the ability to embed the Informatica Data Director user interface for displaying suspected duplicates directly within other systems such as Salesforce.com and Siebel, providing the ability to use the match rules defined in the MDM Hub and the data already loaded into the MDM Hub to detect potential data duplication at the point of entry in an external system, resulting in less duplication at source and providing business users with Master Data insight when making critical business decisions.
Enhanced search and display capabilities for the Informatica Data Director user interface, such as attribute masking by role, multi-level sorting and case insensitive Advanced and Basic searches.
Hierarchy point-in-time viewer, providing users with the ability to visualize and manage hierarchy relationships for a specific point in time, in the past or in the future, and to view changes made to a hierarchy over time.
Single Sign-On support for the Informatica Data Director, allowing IDD to be integrated with centralized authentication providers.
Advanced workflow and business process management capabilities such as data-aware task assignments and complex BPM automation through integration with Fujitsu Interstage Business Process Manager.
A BPM SDK that provides an open framework for integration with 3rd party BPM products, allowing customers to leverage their existing investments in BPM technology.
Metadata repair capabilities in MDM's Metadata Manager tool.
Full 64-bit support for the application server layer.
An upgrade to AddressDoctor5.
Support for JBOSS clustering.
Improved dynamic metadata caching to better support clustered environments.
MDM in the Cloud - an Amazon Machine Image with installed and preconfigured MDM - allows users to accelerate the creation of new MDM instances for new projects, development, testing, deployment, and training.
HotFix 1 is an accumulative combo that includes all the fixes from XU SP2 Patch B Rollup1 HotFix 31 to HotFix 42, and from Hub 9.0.1 GA EBF 1 to EBF 20.
HotFix 1 is a prerequisite for all the future EBFs from MDM Hub 9.0.1.
Refer to the readme file thoroughly before applying this fix.
To apply HotFix 1, do the following:
New customers: Install MDM Hub 9.0.1 Oracle GA, then apply MDM Hub 9.0.1 GA Oracle HotFix 1 (server, cleanse, and database) on top of MDM Hub 9.0.1 Oracle GA
Any existing customers on MDM Hub 9.0.1 Oracle: Apply MDM Hub 9.0.1 GA Oracle HotFix 1 (server, cleanse, and database) on top of MDM Hub 9.0.1 Oracle GA + any EBF fix
Any existing customers on XU SP2 Patch B Rollup 1 GA + XU SP2 Oracle Patch B Rollup 1 HF30 + any HotFix level: Upgrade to MDM Hub 9.0.1 Oracle GA, then apply MDM Hub 9.0.1 GA Oracle HotFix 1 (server, cleanse, and database) on top of MDM Hub 9.0.1 Oracle GA
Any existing customers neither on XU SP2 Patch B Rollup 1 nor on XU level: Upgrade to XU SP2 Oracle Patch B Rollup 1 GA, then upgrade to MDM Hub 9.0.1 Oracle GA, then apply MDM Hub 9.0.1 GA Oracle HotFix 1 (server, cleanse, and database) on top of MDM Hub 9.0.1 Oracle GA
A combination HotFix (HF 30) is available for MDM Hub XU SP2 Patch B Rollup 1. This is a combination of all HotFixes released till now for MDM Hub XU SP2 Patch B Rollup 1. All future HotFixes for MDM Hub XU SP2 Patch B Rollup 1 will be built on top of HF 30. All users running MDM Hub XU SP2 Patch B Rollup 1 are advised to apply HF 30.
HF 30 can either be applied directly to MDM Hub XU SP2 Patch B Rollup 1 (no other HotFixes have to be applied before applying HF 30), or it can be applied on top of any other HotFix previously released for MDM Hub XU SP2 Patch B Rollup 1.
Starting Informatica MDM Multidomain Edition 9.1, which is planned for Q2 2011, MDM MDE will be fully Java 6 compliant across all application servers. This means that Java 5, which reached end-of-life in November 2009, will no longer be supported. As a result, the application server versions that will be dropped from the MDM product availability matrix are WebLogic 9 and WebSphere 6. MDM will continue to support Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1 (10.3.2) in 9.1, and support for WebSphere 7 will be added in the 9.1 timeframe.
Release 9.0.1 of Informatica MDM Multidomain Edition continues to extend Informatica’s leadership position in MDM, building on the extensive data governance capabilities available with the Informatica (formerly Siperian) MDM platform. Some of the key focus areas and capabilities available with this release include:
