What are we announcing?

 

October 2020 will see the release of the PowerExchange CDC publisher Version 1.3.0. The release, in addition to general bug fixes, is focused on improvements related to:

 

  • Security and Logging enhancements
  • Performance improvements for the Apache Kafka Writer
  • Custom control over the output JSON and AVRO formatting
  • Release of a Beta PowerExchange CDC Publisher monitoring tool

 

Specific enhancements include the following:

 

  • PAM
    • Apache Kafka support of versions up to V2.6.0
  • Security and Logging
    • Upgraded Apache Zookeeper version
    • Configuration controlled log4j logging options
    • Customer requested enhancements to error logging
  • General Enhancements
    • Ability to suppress additional CDC-generated data from output
    • Ability to provide JSON message formats
    • Greater control over “date” publishing (selectable datatype)
    • Adding sequence data to added consumer processes for sorting, filtering, and so on.
    • Improvements to recovery processing  to help improve output writer performance
  • Monitoring Service
    • A new Beta monitoring tool has been packaged with the PowerExchange CDC Publisher for customer trialing and feedback purposes.

Who would benefit from this release?

 

This release is for all customers and prospects that want to target Apache Kafka or MapR Streams for real-time integration of PowerExchange supported Changed Data Capture (CDC) sources. These targets can subsequently be used as feeds for the Informatica Data Engineering Streaming (DES) and Data Engineering Management (DEM) products.

PAM: PAM for Informatica PWX CDC Publisher 1.3.0

We are releasing PowerExchange for SAS for Informatica 10.4 and PowerExchange for SAS for PowerCenter 10.4.

 

PowerExchange for SAS for Informatica 10.4 contains the following enhancements:

  • Configure fixed partitioning for SAS data object read and write operation
  • Read data from SAS files created on the Linux operating system
  • Read data from SAS files specified within a file list

PowerExchange for SAS for PowerCenter 10.4 contains the following enhancements:

  • Support for pass-through partitioning in a session that reads from or writes to SAS
  • Read data from SAS files created on the Linux operating system
  • Read CHAR-compressed SAS files

PAM for Informatica 10.4

Power Exchange for Kafka connector supports read/write to Kafka on IICS in batch mode.

 

It’s licensed as “Kafka” SKU under connector licenses in IICS.

Uma is a lead engineer in the Global Customer Support organization at Austin, Texas. He has over 9 years of experience with the Informatica platform and is a specialist in the PWX Adapters for Cloud Ecosystem technologies such as Salesforce, Snowflake, Azure, Redshift, and Google BigQuery.

Informatica PowerExchange Connector for Kafka provides source and target connectivity to Kafka from PowerCenter in a Kafka stream. With the help of this connector, customers can ingress & egress data to & from Kafka from PowerCenter Real-time edition.

Informatica 10.2.0 HotFix 1 Offcycle Connectors (Qlik, Azure DW-V3, and CosmosDB) have been released to shipping and are available immediately.

 

The release includes the following connectors:

 

Qlik(IDQ):

This connector supports Qlik connector on IDQ platform. It supports generating .QVX file.

 

DW-V3(PC):

This connector supports read/write to Azure Datawarehouse. It is an enhancement over the existing V2 connector. Some of the major features include AAD auth. Support, Batch support, and US Gov Cloud support.

 

CosmosDB(IDQ):

This connector supports read/write to Azure CosmosDB.

This release supports CosmosDB connector on SPARK mode. Connectors have both Read/Write capabilities.
