May 22 will see the V10.2.0 Hotfix 2 release of PowerExchange Mainframe & CDC. Most of this release is covering EBF roll-ups although we have made some minor enhancements to basic PowerExchange functionality as well as minor PAM enhancements. The PowerExchange enhancements facilitate:

  • PAM support
    • Added support for CICS/TS V5.5
  • New/Extended Utilities
    • New: PWXCATMY (MySQL) utility can create and manage the catalog
    • Extended: DTLUCBRG can now use the CREATEBICI parameter to generate before-image and change-indicator columns for user-defined expression fields that are associated with PowerExchange functions.
  • General Enhancements
    • During PowerExchange Express CDC for Oracle, block validation has been improved to validate the checksum for all blocks in the current log instead of only the blocks at the tip of the log.
    • To validate the integrity of the PowerExchange remote captured data PowerExchange now performs a checksum test of records in the CDCT file of the PowerExchange Logger for Linux, UNIX, and Windows to detect corrupted records and to avoid potential errors while reading information from the CDCT file*1.
    • For z/OS processing you can now influence SMS managed options DATACLASS and STORCLASS parameters in a CREATEFILE command used in the Pre SQL or Post SQL attribute for a PowerCenter session.
    • PowerExchange now uses catalog tables, which you create in a MySQL database, to store MySQL source table definitions. When DDL change events of CDC interest are made to the source tables, PowerExchange updates the source table definitions in the catalog to avoid errors when reading change data.

As always, for a complete list of features as well as instructions on how to enable them, please review the appropriate PowerExchange V10.2.0 HF2 Release documentation.
