For years, Informatica PowerCenter has been the gold standard for on-premises data integration. For many companies and organizations Informatica PowerCenter, together with an enterprise data warehouse, has served as the backbone of their analytics environment. These organizations have invested a tremendous amount of time, resource, and effort to build the data pipelines on which their businesses run. With the advent of cloud computing, these customers are embarking on a new journey to modernize their enterprise data warehouses to take advantage of all the cloud has to offer: scalability, agility, performance, and cost effectiveness. To accelerate the time to value for these new cloud data warehouse environments, it’s critical that these companies modernize not only their data warehouses but their PowerCenter deployments as well.

As a Cloud First Cloud Native company, Informatica understands the importance, and the challenge, that this modernization effort represents to our PowerCenter customers. That’s why we created the Cloud Data Warehouse Modernization Solution for PowerCenter. This solution is designed from the ground up to address our PowerCenter customers’ most pressing concerns and objectives as they modernize to the cloud and invest in cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Microsoft Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, and Google Big Query.

This solution modernizes a customer’s PowerCenter deployment to Informatica’s cloud-native platform, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS). Using a straightforward usage-based licensing model that incorporates all of Informatica’s cloud-native data integration services - including data quality, mass ingestion, elastic and serverless processing - IICS provides customers with the flexibility and agility they demand from a data management platform that was born in the cloud.

How do we help customers accomplish this modernization? With something called the Migration Factory. This is Informatica’s purpose-built tool that incorporates the highest degree of automation possible to migrate a customer’s PowerCenter data assets, including mappings, sessions, and workflows, to IICS. The Migration Factory is by far the fastest, least risky, and most economical option a PowerCenter customer has to modernize to the cloud. Expertise and guidance provided by Informatica’s Professional Services and Customer Success teams ensure that customers are able to maximize their value from the Migration Factory.

The solution also provides significant financial incentives to ease the cost of simultaneously running both PowerCenter and IICS during the modernization process before the customer’s transition to IICS is complete. And throughout the entire process, the world-class customer support that customers have come to expect from Informatica is not diminished in any way.

If you are a PowerCenter customer, you simply cannot afford to ignore or discard the investment you’ve made in PowerCenter as you pursue your own cloud strategy. Accelerate your success in the cloud by taking advantage of all the data integration content you’ve built instead of starting from scratch.
